Abstract

Science constitutes a fundamental foundation for education and the development of human civilization. Its growth occurs through a long and complex historical process that can be understood through the periodization of the history of science. This article aims to examine in depth the periodization of scientific development from prehistoric times to the contemporary era and to analyze its implications for education. This study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method by analyzing relevant scientific sources published within the last five years. The findings reveal that each period of scientific development possesses distinct epistemological characteristics, modes of reasoning, and educational paradigms. Understanding this periodization significantly contributes to the development of reflective, critical, and contextual education, particularly in responding to the challenges of 21st-century education.
